LOKI interview
Name of book
LOKI, A bad gods guide to being good
Author
Louie Stowell
What’s the book about
It's about Loki, who gets banished to earth for a month, to try and prove he’s worthy of Asgard (where the gods live). He gets sent a pretend family with Thor, his actual older brother, and Heimdall and Hyrrokkin, his pretend mom and dad.
During his month on earth, he learns a lot about human behaviour (what it means to be good), human rituals (sending kids to imprisonment in school), human parenting (apperently, bowling is good for you) and the thing of beauty, that’s better than any godly feast… crisps!
Is the book awesome or awful
Lev: awesome, because its very funny and humiliating for Thor. One always likes to see the older brother trapped!
Meital: It’s a hilarious book! I’ve literally sat on the couch, covered in crisps’ crumbs, and laughed my head off.
Is it the best or worst book ever written?
Lev: No. its not the best or worst book ever written, because there are a few things that need improving, but I’ve definitely read worst books. For example, some of the jokes weren’t very good.
Meital: It’s one of the best children’s books I’ve read for a while. The fresh perspective on human behaviour, combined with a god that is not godly at all, is a fertile setting for humor and bravery.
If you have to pick a friend for a character from this book, who would it be and why?
Lev: I would pick Max as from Max Einstein as a friend for Loki, because their both very witty and funny.
Meital: I would pick Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the chocolate factory to befriend Loki, as they are both so self absorbed, they would have to turn blue before realising it.
If this book was a food item, what would it be?
Lev: For me, it would be a crème egg because both can sometimes be too sweet, and sometimes you can’t get enough of them.
Meital: Well, obviously, crisps!
